Change of Information

Terms & Conditions

Policyholders can make changes to the policy information as follows:

  • Change of personal information: name, surname, address, phone number and signature.

  • Change of beneficiary’s information or payor’s information.

  • Change of the method of receiving policy benefit payouts.

  • Request a reprint policy to replace the lost one.

(The policy issuance fee for non-electronic policies is THB 150)

Required Documents

  1. Amendment Requisition Form Download

  2. A copy of identification card or passport of the policyholders with certified true copy.

  3. A copy of identification card or passport of parents or legal representatives (in case of juvenile policy) with certified true copy.

  4. Certificate of name change issued by government official (in case of changing the name or surname of policyholders, beneficiary or payee).

  5. House registration (in case of change of beneficiary’s information).

  6. A copy of passbook, certified true copy by the policyholders or legal representatives (in case of juvenile policy) to request for change of the method of receiving policy benefit payouts.

Cancellation within Free Look Period

Terms & Conditions

Insured has a right to cancel the insurance policy within a specified period of time in accordance with General Provisions of an ordinary life insurance policy, Section 5, “The Rights to Cancel a Policy”, starting from the date the Insured receives the policy (Free Look Period). If the Insured has already exercised his/her rights in making claims or partial withdrawal or fund switching, he/she shall not be entitled to cancel this policy.

Change premium payment frequency (premium mode)

Insured can request to change premium payment frequency (mode of payment) at the policy anniversary date in accordance with policy provision.

Change of benefit coverage, add or delete riders

Terms & Conditions

 For an ordinary life insurance policy, the insured can request to add, delete, or change existing riders at the policy anniversary date in accordance with the policy provisions.

Decrease in Sum Assured

Terms & Conditions

The insured has the right to request a decrease of the existing sum assured on the policy anniversary date, in accordance with the criteria set by the company.  

Required Documents

  1. Amendment Requisition form Download

  2. A copy of identification card or passport of the Insured with certified true copy.

  3. A copy of identification card or passport of parents or legal representatives (in case of juvenile) with certified true copy.

  4. A copy of the passbook of the legal representative or the legal guardian (in case the insured is not yet of legal age) for the case of requesting policy benefit payouts.

Remark

  1. To decrease the sum assured of an existing policy, the insured must pay a change to decrease in sum assured fee in the amount of 150 baht.
  2. The change will be considered complete once it is approved by the company and the endorsement is issued. This change will take effect when the next premium payment becomes due.

Reinstatement

Terms & Conditions

1. The policy that has lapsed for no more than 5 years (since its inception).
2. Reinstating the policy by paying all outstanding premiums along with compound interest at a rate 2% higher than the annual premium calculation rate.

3. Reinstating the policy by adjusting the policy’s start date to match the duration it has been expired. In this case, the insured pays premiums based on their age at the new start date of the insurance contract, along with any difference in premiums (if any).
4. The company may require a health check and request additional documents according to the underwriting criteria, at the insured’s own expense.

Policy Surrender

Terms & Conditions

  1. The Insured has the right to terminate the policy while the policy is still in force.

  2. The company will refund the policy surrender value as specified in the policy value table, along with any other applicable benefits. However, if there are outstanding debts under this policy, the liability amount will be deducted from the policy surrender value.

Things to consider when surrendering a life insurance policy before maturity

  1. The surrender amount may be less than the total premiums paid, especially during the initial years of the policy.

  2. Buying a new life insurance policy after surrendering the existing one can result in higher premiums due to an increased age. Additionally, the insurer will have to assess health status, which may impact the premium rates.

  3. Surrendering the policy means losing the opportunity to receive ongoing protection, including rights and benefits entitled to in the previous life insurance policy.

  4. When acquiring a new life insurance policy, the applicant has a responsibility to provide accurate and truthful information to the insurer. Failing to do so may lead to disputes over the validity of the contract within the specified timeframe of the new contract. In the context of health insurance, both the waiting period and pre-existing conditions will commence anew.

Absolute Assignment

Terms & Conditions

The insured has the right transfer policy benefits to related person (e.g., father, mother, spouse or child etc) as an assignee. Notwithstanding, the company reserved the right not to process absolute assignee under the following conditions:

  1. Assignee is juvenile (age less than 20 years).

  2. Assignee is a legal entity.  

After the completion of an absolute assignment, the assignee gains specific rights related to the policy as follows:

  • Policy Rights eg. Surrender, non-forfeiture options (Extended term insurance, Reduced paid-up), policy reinstatement, policy amendment, policy loan and etc.

  • Policy Benefit Payouts e.g. conditional bonus, dividends, maturity benefits and etc.

  • All request forms must be signed by the assignee and the policyholder or their parent/legal representative (in case of juvenile).

Cancellation of Absolute Assignment

The Assignee can request to cancel the absolute assignment; all policy rights and benefits will be returned to the insured.

In the event of an assignee’s death

The insured can inform the company to cancel absolute assignment, all policy rights and benefits will be returned to the insured.

Policy Loan

Terms & Conditions

In the event that the insured chooses not to convert the policy to reduced paid-up or extended term insurance, and if the policy already has a surrender value, they retain the right to request a policy loan. The company will apply compounded interest to the loan at the specified rate, which varies for each insurance plan.  

Notice for policy

Policy will be terminated if the loan amount and interest exceed the surrender value.

Reduced Paid Up Insurance (RPU)/ Extended Term Insurance (ETI)

Terms & Conditions

In the event that the policy has a Cash Surrender Value, and while the policy is in force, if the Insured decides not to pay premiums any longer but still needs to maintain coverage, they can request to convert the policy into a reduced paid-up policy or an extended term insurance.  

Reduced Paid Up Insurance

  • Term of coverage will be the same as the previous one. The sum assured will be reduced, as given in the table for a reduced paid-up insurance

  • In the event that the Insured is still alive at maturity, the company will pay the maturity benefit as stated in the reduced paid-up policy.

  • In the unfortunate event that the Insured passes away during the policy period, the company will pay the death benefit as outlined in the reduced paid-up policy to the designated beneficiary.   

Extended Term Insurance

  • The term of coverage aligns with the extended term insurance, as specified in the policy. During this period, the sum assured remains constant.  

  • In the event the Insured is still alive at the end of the extended term, the company will pay the maturity benefit as given in the policy schedule.

  • In the unfortunate event that the Insured passes away within the extended term, the company will pay the death benefit as outlined in the reduced paid-up policy to the designated beneficiary.

Payout under the Policy

Terms & Conditions

  1. Payout during the policy period refers to the amount of money that the company commits to pay while the policy is active and before its maturity. This payment may occur on the policy anniversary or the policy maturity date. The specific terms governing these payouts are outlined in the policy payment provisions attached to the insurance policy. 

  2. Maturity Benefit / Dividend Payout: the amount that the company commits to pay when the insured reaches the age specified in the insurance policy. To receive this benefit, the insured must pay premiums in full when they become due, and there should be no surrender of the policy period.  

Remark

  1. If there are any outstanding debts, the company   shall deduct the amount owed plus interest (if any) before making a payout.

  2. Dividend rate for Participating Policy shall be announced on the Company’s website.

Retirement Benefit Payout

Terms & Conditions
In the event that the Insured is still alive and the policy is in force, the company will pay the retirement benefit as outlined below on the policy anniversary date when the Insured reaches ages 60 to 85:

1st Period: The company shall pay an annuity worth 15% of the sum assured if the Insured is alive on each policy anniversary date during which the Insured is between 60 and 74 years old.

2nd Period: Upon proof of living by the Insured, the company shall pay an annuity worth 15% of the sum assured if the Insured is alive on each policy anniversary date during which the Insured is between 75 and 85 years old.  

Remark

If the annuity amount to be received is less than 3,000 baht, the company will pay the surrender value after deducting any outstanding amounts owed to the Insured. In such cases, the policy will be considered terminated immediately.
